Mission

Outreach Unlimited helps those who are homeless work toward becoming more self-reliant by offering nightly shelter, food and support targeted toward each individual's need for stable housing, employment or social services.

The Big Idea

Men and women in need of shelter can find it every night without a waiting list through I-HELP, the Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program. This program provides a safe place to sleep at night, a hot dinner, and a caring community 365 days a year, via a network of partnering faith communities in Pacific Grove, Marina, Seaside, Monterey, Carmel and Carmel Valley. During the day those staying in I-HELP are free to focus on finding work, housing or social services and health care that they need to get their life moving forward. Your donations will help pay the part time staff that drive the I-HELP buses and the staff that provides security for the men and women each night at the shelter locations.

People don’t know how hard it is to be without a place to live. I worked as a cook and a laborer. I was always very healthy, until I was injured on the job. Back surgery did not end the pain. I’m 68 now and I’m unable to work. My family’s home was lost due to taking a reverse mortgage. It seemed like the best idea at the time. However, when we lost the house, I was forced to find housing which is very difficult in this area. I am thankful to I-HELP. I need help with housing. I never thought I would be in this situation. It really can happen to anyone.
